Membership

The membership of the Organization is open to any person who fulfils the terms & conditions of the Organization but subject to the approval.


Types, Admission Fees & Subscriptions

There shall be two types of memberships. First the Active Members which will constitute the General Body. The second being the Inactive Members who choose not to participate actively in the Org. They will not have any say in any matter of decisions of the Org. although they can participate in the programs, functions, meetings or any activity.
 
 Primary Membership
  • Admission Fee:     50/- (validity 1 year)
  • 30/- for Women, children/students of age 12 to 25 years
  • 10 for children of age less than 12 years
  • OR as decided on case to case basis
  • Subscription: 10/- per month.

Active Membership

  • Admission Fee:     100/- (validity 1 year)
  • 250/- (validity 3 years)
  • 500/- (validity 6 years)
  • 750/- (validity 10 years)
  • 1000/- (validity 15 years)
  • 1800/- (validity 25 years)
  • 2500/- (validity Life time)
  • Subscription: 30/- per month

Terms and Conditions of Membership

     
Any person fulfilling the following conditions is eligible for the membership:
  1. Is 18 years of age and above or have the assent of their Guardians if below the age of 18
  2. Ready to administer ‘Oath of Membership’ to express Loyalty to the Org and/or its Objects and Constitution
  3. Aware of and ready to uphold the objects of the Org. and commit to adhere to the policies, guidelines, Rules & Regulations and decisions of the Org.
  4. Maintain highest standard of deportment, conduct and humanity
  5. Commit not to indulge in anti-social activities, anti-propaganda to the Org or the activities which are prejudicial to the interests of the Org.
  6. Commit to perform the duties associated with a member and office
  7. Have a vision and zeal to do something for the survival of life and humanity and promote Love, Laughter, Celebration, Peace, Harmony, and Universal Brotherhood.
  8. Want to work for all-inclusive development of people and committed to the good of the Nature and Individuals
  9. Is of sound mind, not insolvent or has crossed two years after being convicted of any offence by any court of law or has served sentence of imprisonment

NOTE: The reason of refusal for the membership shall be communicated to the person/applicant concerned.

Rights & Previledges of a Member 


All and every Active member of the Org.:
  1. Have right to vote at every meeting (except Inactive members) having voting strength as per ‘Evaluation & Recognition’ system.
  2. Shall be entitled to participate in the meetings, cultural/educational functions and other lawful gatherings called/arranged by the Org.
  3. To inspect the accounts and proceedings of the Org. on appointment.
  4. To submit suggestions for discussion to the Boards, Councils, Committees or other fora at appropriate level on any matter relating to the Org.
  5. Have right to collect the Identity Card, Recognition Certificates, Prizes, Honors etc. after fulfilling the required/prescribed conditions, fees etc.
  6. The rights and liabilities attaching to any Members of the Org. may be varied from time to time by a Special Resolution.

Duties of the Members and Ethics

 All and every member of the Organization shall:

  1. Not act in any way contrary to the Terms and Conditions above mentioned.
  2. Administer the ‘Oath of Membership’ to express loyalties to the Organization and its objects and Constitution.
  3. Attend the GBMs, Programs, Functions, or any such gathering called/arranged by the Org.
  4. Give the necessary information to the Organization pertaining to any matter which is necessary to be known by the Organization.
  5. Ensure that all members have an equal opportunity in the activities.

Suspension, Resignation, Expulsion, Termination or Downgradation of Members

REASONS OR GROUNDS

The Org. shall have the powers to take any deterrent step against member(s) on the following grounds, including reasons mentioned elsewhere:

  1. On one’s death.
  2. On one’s written resignation, subject to acceptance.
  3. On becoming of unsound mind.
  4. One is found guilty by means of being or acting contrary to the Terms and Conditions and Duties and objects of the Org. above mentioned.
  5. One fails to pay the subscription of contributions for three months from the due date, he/she will be automatically downgraded to be Inactive.
  6. One hasn’t attended 3 consecutive meetings without proper intimation, he/she will be automatically downgraded to be Inactive.
  7. Is directly or indirectly interested in any contract with the Organization and fails to declare the nature of his interest.
  8. If members having 25% voting strength at a level and section lodge complaint against any member.
  9. One refuses or willfully neglects to comply with any of these Articles of Org. or shall have been guilty of such conduct as in the opinion of the Executives either shall have rendered him unfit to remain a member of the Org. or shall be injurious to the Org. or if the Executives shall for any other good reason require that a member shall be expelled such member may by a Resolution of the Executives be expelled from membership.
  10. One is convicted or adjudged by a competent court of law to be a criminal offender or unsound mind.

Re-Admission/Upgradation

If a member is downgraded due to the reasons V.A.(5) and V.A.(6) one can be upgraded provided the member concerned pays all up-to-date dues and upon request and commitment by the member to actively participate in the activities of the Org. respectively. In other cases the member maybe reinstated after due process and consultations.

Oath of Membership

I, _______________, bona fide member of the Million Smiles Organization, do solemnly promise to myself, my fellow members and the Org. that:

I will abide by, follow and uphold, all the provisions of the constitution and by-laws of this Org., and to the best of my ability, act honorably and ethically in all my dealings, in the belief and knowledge that doing so will lead to a greater good, live up to the expectations of the Org. and my commitments and responsibilities as a member.

I further pledge, to pursue the ideals and objectives of the Org. I further swear to help and promote the development of the Org. and support in whatever way I can in the implementation of the projects and activities for the development of our members and upliftment of humanity at large and nature.

I acknowledge the responsibilities and value the benefits of being a member of such an association.

I will express my ideas and opinions openly and without reservation, so long as they do not impinge on the rights and freedoms of others, whoever they may be.

I will endeavor to act with moral clarity, grace and nobility.

I understand that I am now a member of a distinguished community. I will strive to uphold the standing of the community, with special obligation placed on encouraging and championing the pursuits of my fellow members.

I will acknowledge my limitations and my mistakes so that I may learn from them.

I will continue to seek new knowledge, never resting on past wisdom or successes.

Above all, I will aspire to make a positive contribution to the humanity.

I promise to uphold the traditions, integrity and high standards set by those that came before me.

I will strive to create and sustain value over the long term while maintaining a commitment to social, spiritual, ethical and global human values.

I will be responsible to all stakeholders, and this will include members, employees, beneficiaries, the community in which I operate, and all those that may be affected by my actions.

I will act with integrity and respect in all my dealings, making transparency paramount and demanding the same in return.

I will allow neither ego nor malice to play a role in my decision-making process.

I will conduct my activities in an environmentally sustainable manner, and will consider the true societal costs when making decisions.

I will maintain the same care and vigilance when dealing with public money as I would if it were my own.

I will obey and uphold local and international laws wherever and with whomever I engage in activities with whether personally or on behalf of the Org.

I will similarly oppose corruption and any dishonest practices whether or not prohibited by local or international law.

I will accept and take responsibility for my actions, honestly and without exception.

I will manage my social work in good faith, guarding against decisions and behavior that advance my own narrow ambitions but harm the Org. and the societies it serves.

I will understand and uphold, both in letter and in spirit, the laws and contracts governing my own.

I will take responsibility for my actions, and I will represent the performance and risks of my actions accurately and honestly.

I will develop both myself and other members under my supervision so that the Org. continues to grow and contribute to the well-being of society.

I will strive to create sustainable economic, social, and environmental prosperity worldwide.

I will be accountable to my peers and they will be accountable to me for living by this oath.

I pledge to support the membership and their endeavors and most importantly to work to increase the number of sane, sorted and sensible members.

This oath I make freely, and upon my honor.
